Both @BeisTravel and @glossier have grown at ‘holy shit speed’. They are 5 and 10-year-old brands, respectively, and they have disrupted the luggage and beauty industries.

Shopify president Harley Finkelstein sat down with @BeisTravel and @glossier to talk about how they’ve grown at what he calls “holy shit“ speed, including:
Continuously disrupt yourself.
Create a category within a category.
Get a vice grip on the consumer.

While most of us are still stumbling upon new features released during the previous Summer Editions, the team at Shopify have been busy building and have set a date for the '24 Winter Editions:
January 31, 11am EST.

Shop Pay on non-Shopify websites
🚨 SPOTTED ShopPay on a non-Shopify website!
Everlane's site is built on a homegrown CMS & now has ShopPay.
ShopPay + Shopify's credibility amongst enterprise co’s will be the death of every single 1-click checkout business.
This will be... fast!

Shop Pay now integrates with all commerce platforms.
By turning Shop Pay into a Commerce Component, enterprise brands on virtually any platform can tap into Shopify’s 100-million+ network of high-intent buyers.
This should also benefit native Shopify stores as it will enhance the overall visibility of Shop Pay across all commerce, and more Shop Pay users means easier checkouts across the Shopify ecosystem for those users.

Shopify joins Google Cloud Marketplace
Shopify is now officially available on Google Cloud Marketplace.
TBH I’m not exactly sure what this means. But it sounds good I suppose.

Four new Shopify updates
Product insights page removed from Analytics - The product insights beta has been removed from Analytics and will be replaced by an improved product conversion reporting experience later in 2024.
Shopify Duties and Import Taxes preferential treaty support - Shopify Duties and Import Taxes now supports preferential trade agreements in duties calculations.
Redirect visitors to translated storefronts based on their browser language - It is now possible for merchants to automatically redirect visitors to translated storefronts with the Language redirection setting within Markets.
Earn 3.86% annually with Shopify Balance - Shopify Balance now rewards you with 3.86% in the form of an annual percentage yield (APY) on all money held in your Balance account.
INSPO OF THE WEEK
The Beis website is a bit of a sleeper… everything about it is good, but nothing really stands out as spectacular. (That is until you see $218 products with over 8820 reviews 👀) I like the top section on their new arrivals page. Not only promoting new collections, but also hinting at an upcoming collection. They use this same format for the mega menu for New Arrivals as well.
